Department of Labor Guidance on Implementing the Families First Coronavirus Response Act

The Wage and Hour Division of the U.S. Department of Labor (“DOL”) will be providing regulations and information for the implementation of the paid sick leave and expanded family and medical leave under the recently enacted Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA). See our March 19, 2020 post for a summary of FFCRA’s provisions.

If you go to the Department of Labor web site, there are very useful links to information about the new law including Fact Sheets, Posters, Field Guidance and “Frequently Asked Questions and Answers.”

Please note that the Department of Labor has MOVED UP the effective date for the FFCRA from April 2, 2020 to April 1, 2020.

Thus far, the DOL has issued only initial guidance and more information and detailed instructions will be forthcoming.  Check back to the main link on the DOL web site to get the most updated information.
